Peruvian Center for Latin American Studies BISU – USIL

We are the Peruvian Center for Latin American Studies BISU - USIL, the first institution to establish academic links between Peru and China. We promote research and studies on language development, as well as the dissemination of Peruvian and Latin American cultural and historical wealth.

Since 2014 we have organized cultural events, conferences, seminars, talks and artistic shows.

About BISU - USIL

The importance of the institute.

China and Latin America are experiencing a special historical moment in a context of great change. The interconnected world we have in this twenty-first century demands the knowledge and interrelationship of countries with complex and interdependent, highly technological economies and societies, which stimulates mechanisms of multipolar cooperation.

The cultural center is, in that sense, a space for academic rapprochement between the parties for a plural understanding of the mechanisms of cooperation between our countries. It allows the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as a link that will help promote trade relations between Peru and China.

In the case of Peru, China has become one of its first trading partners, which in itself demands that knowledge between the two nations be strengthened.

Conferences and activities

We have received the visit of the ambassadors of Peru, Colombia, Panama, among other representatives of trade, culture and Latin American society.

We have done cycles of conversation and dissemination of films from Peru and Colombia.

A coordination system has been set up to enable Chinese students to practice pre-professionally in Latin American embassies.

The cultural center has a library on diverse Latin American topics.
Students use the center’s facilities to study, while teachers can also hold meetings.
