International higher education consultant Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) today published the QS Latam Ranking 2022, ranking San Ignacio University in Loyola among the top 10 public and private universities in Peru and 85th in the Employer Reputation variable at the Latin American level.
To develop this international ranking, the educational quality of 418 universities in Latin America was measured; of these, 20 peruanas, among which was included to our house of studies.
The pollster highlights that for the second consecutive year USIL maintains its position among the best universities in the country and has advanced a point in reputation of employers, ranking in this category 85 of the best universities in Latin America.
It has also improved academic reputation (from 151st to 146th place), web impact (from 2010 to 163rd place) and almost doubled citations in scientific works, reaching a total of 656 citations in the evaluated period (2015-2019); in addition, it produced 231 academic essays.
Another aspect highlighted by the British consultancy is the USIL’s positive trend in the ranking, since since 2018 the institution rose twice and did not show negative performances.
To establish the ranking, the opinion of 100,000 scholars from all over the world on the level of teaching and the quality of research was consulted; as well as the number of citations in scientific works, which is calculated using data from Scopus, an academic information base of great international prestige. Fifty thousand employers around the world were also consulted to measure job reputation.
It should be noted that among the universities of the world that make up this ranking are prestigious houses of study such as: Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, University of Sao Paulo, among other Latin American universities.
