Sustainable Club
It is made up of leading students from USIL and both Institutes of Entrepreneurs, seeking through projects, mobilizing the community and inspiring a vision that contributes to the development of a sustainable world.
Our sustainable culture is framed in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. Our goal is to improve access to quality education, because we believe that it can transform society, helping people develop their knowledge, skills, values and behaviors by becoming responsible actors that solve challenges, respect cultural diversity and contribute to creating a more just, inclusive and sustainable world.
Our sustainability model is managed through three strategic axes that work together to achieve positive results for the benefit of the local and global community.
We develop, implement and evaluate sustainable educational strategies and training processes of a transversal nature in our curricula, which allows us to integrate progressively and organically the principles and values of sustainable development.

Our environmental actions are aligned with the National Strategy for Climate Change, through the USIL Sustainable Campus Environmental Management Program.
USIL sustainable campus
Our main environmental actions include measuring carbon footprint, the use of renewable energy on campuses, building eco-efficient infrastructure, encouraging responsible consumption, waste management and promoting an environmental education culture.
We promote the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste generated in the development of activities
We adopt eco-efficiency in our operations by incorporating taps and special equipment to save water and energy in all our headquarters
We are the first university educational institution in Peru with LEED Certification, leadership in Energy & Environmental Design.
We are the first university to join the Carbon Footprint Peru initiative of the Ministry of Environment. In 2019 and 2020 we achieved first star certification.
Throughout the year we disseminate and carry out actions of good eco-efficiency practices to sensitize and stimulate students, teachers and collaborators.
We design, develop, implement, evaluate and promote programs and projects — our own or with partner organizations — that generate value for the local and global community.
4,000 meters away, and 40 minutes from the city of Cusco, is Occopata, a peasant community with which we have been developing, since May 2018, the social responsibility program of the USIL Educational Group.
The social responsibility program aims to benefit young people with academic, artistic or sports potential, coming from public schools or emerging sectors, co-financing their university education at the San Ignacio University of Loyola.
For the seventh consecutive year, we received the Socially Responsible Enterprise (DESR) badge.
